Renting out and cleaning homes in Todos Santos, Mexico, from the winter swell to a slow September

AirROI's numbers show March as the month a Todos Santos rental usually earns the most and September as the month it earns the least, at under half of March. Winter is the best surf season, Tus Buenas Noticias reports, with Los Cerritos suiting intermediate surfers and Punta Lobos the advanced ones. A guest who's here to surf comes back with a board, a wetsuit and a lot of sand, so cleaning in those weeks has to allow for the outdoor shower, extra towels and sandy floors.

The La Paz tourism trust's beach guide says La Pastora has powerful waves and strong currents and isn't safe for swimming. Your guests should know before they leave the house which beach to pick if they want to get in the water.

In October 2024, Tribuna de México reported that the Grupo Tortuguero de Todos Santos was looking after about 40,000 olive ridley eggs in 400 nests, with releases at San Sebastián beach, which locals call La Máquina. The group's president, Enedino Castillo, said dogs, especially those of tourists camping near the dunes, kill the turtles. If your place is pet-friendly, it's worth passing on what the group asks for, which is keeping dogs away from the nests, skipping bonfires and not driving on the beach.

From La Paz airport to Todos Santos it's 86 kilometers, about 1 hour 11 minutes by car, Rome2Rio says, and Autobuses Águila runs an hourly bus from La Paz that takes about 1 hour 35 minutes. So if their flight lands at night, they'll reach the house more than an hour later.
