Vacation rentals in Creel, Mexico, where guests stay under three nights and the Chepe sets the season

At 2.8 nights a stay, a cabin that's full in December changes guests two or three times a week. 46% of listings are cabins or outdoor stays, 62% are rented whole, and 86% of reviewers live in Mexico, 8% in the United States. May is the slowest month, per AirROI.

The Chepe Express covers more than 350 kilometers, about nine hours, between Los Mochis and Creel. Uno TV published its seasons: high season runs April 14 to 27, July 1 to August 31 and December 15 to January 11, 2026, and the rest of the year is low season. If your guest comes by train, the Chepe's timetable sets their arrival time, and the cabin has to be ready by then.

It snows in winter. The first snowfall of 2026 came in the early hours of January 8 and buried the Chepe station in Creel until only the rails showed, and another was expected for February 11, according to Luz Noticias. A cabin heated with wood or gas needs that supply checked before every arrival, the same as the sheets and the toilet paper.

Over Holy Week the sierra gets day visitors. In the first week of 2025 the state tourism department counted more than 460,000 day-trippers across the state, at places that include Parque Barrancas.

For the cold, the photo checklist can make firewood, gas and the extra blankets required steps, and the cleaner sends a photo of each before the guest arrives.
