How it works on the ground
Tequila is a weekend destination. Luis Ignacio Gómez Arriola, INAH's site manager, told Milenio in July 2026 that before 2006 "nobody went to Tequila," and that it is now Jalisco's second tourist destination. Per AirROI, July is the best month and April the slowest, and 71% of reviewers live in Mexico.
What happens on the highway weighs as much as what happens in town. After "El Mencho" was killed on February 22, 2026, there were cartel roadblocks, and two trucks were burned on the roads into town. There were no clashes inside Tequila, but a shopkeeper told Uno TV his sales fell 60% to 70% over three weeks, and that what kept people away was fear of the roads. Across Jalisco hotel occupancy fell 30% the following week, and the head of the national tourism business council told El Financiero it had recovered by the second week.
Others come by train. The José Cuervo Express, with classes from Express to Elite, announced special itineraries for June and July 2026 and tours of the La Rojeña distillery, and the Tequila Express scheduled special runs on June 12, 19 and 25 (Milenio).
Where Upbridge fits
When something happens on the highway, guests ask before they set off. In the guest guide we put how to get there from Guadalajara, where to park, how to get into the house and who to message, in Spanish and English. We build it and the guest opens it on their phone from the moment they book.
In a weekend destination, each checkout from Guesty, Hostaway, Lodgify, Uplisting or your iCal becomes an assigned cleaning, and the cleaner ticks off the checklist room by room with photos.
If the guest came to taste tequila, the inventory for each property keeps count of glasses, ice and courtesy snacks, and warns you in the app, by email and on WhatsApp when something runs out.
If you manage vacation rentals or clean homes in Tequila or the towns of the Agave Landscape, Upbridge helps with what happens between one booking and the next.
If you run a cleaning company in Tequila
In Tequila your week gets decided on Sunday, when the weekend guests leave, and July brings more work than April. The cleaning company account puts every client's checkouts in one calendar, from each one's iCal or PMS, so you can see early which Sunday is going to be heavy. Your clients stay yours, and the account takes no cut of any cleaning.
